Design Methodology

up2speed computer solutions recognizes the importance of having an understandable, predictable website development process that keeps you informed every step of the way.  Based on our experience developing websites, we’ve created a methodology that is understandable, predictable and repeatable. And through our secure project area, you stay informed.  We provide you with a login that allows you to track the progress from the beginning of your website design through each phase until your website is complete and ready to go-live.

Here is a summary of our methodology:

Initiate

To begin the design of your website, we have you complete a short questionnaire.  This is your chance to share with us what you want in your website. This questionnaire helps us understand your business objectives, website goals and desired functionality.  This phase is not to be underestimated.  It is important that you put in the time to provide answers to each question. 

After reviewing your questionnaire, we schedule an interview to dialogue about the information you provided.  This interview enables us to clarify any questions we might have regarding the comments you made in the questionnaire, and provides an additional opportunity for you to verbalize what you want in your website.  We have found the interview to be an important step in gaining further understanding of your desired website look and functionality.

Invent

During this phase, we develop a site map.  The site map shows the structure of the home page, sub-pages, and navigation between pages.  The site map is developed to ensure agreement that your desired functionality is represented in the website.

Collaborate

After the site map has been developed we meet with you to go over every aspect of design, functionality, and marketing for your website. The information gathered during this meeting is critical for the next phase.

Create

up2speed computer solutions begins the graphic design phase by providing you with 2-3 black and white design layouts for your home page and sub-pages.  Once you select your desired page layout, then you select the color scheme to be applied to the page layout based on several color scheme options.

Develop

Once you have selected and signed off on the design, up2speed computer solutions will begin the programming of your website. This is the phase where the design turns into a functional and usable website.  up2speed computer solutions provides complete website programming including navigation, database integration, forms and any application design you might need.

Deploy

During this final phase, we post the website on our servers for you to review, test the website and application (if applicable) and make any necessary changes to the site required from testing and your review. Your website is now ready to be turned over to you.  We will provide you with training on how you can manage and maintain your website going forward.
